Please indicate any Growth of the Game initiatives your facility/academy has launched over the past year (please give specifics on such programs):
I have developed and implemented several unique and innovative teaching programs aimed at expanding access to golf, fostering youth engagement, and promoting inclusivity in the sport. These programs, which focus on empowering women, youth, and underrepresented groups, have been designed to offer both golf instruction and personal development opportunities. Below are some highlights from my recent work:
Inner-City & New Girls Golf Team Academies: This year, I launched two new golf academies aimed at increasing participation in girls' golf at the high school level:
• Inner-City Golf Academy: This free, 2-day academy was designed for girls in the Madison East and Madison LaFollette school districts, particularly targeting girls in grades 7-12. These schools face challenges in fielding golf teams, so the academy sought to foster interest in the sport and provide these young athletes with access to professional golf instruction. As part of this program, participants also received free private lessons in July and August to prepare for the high school golf season.
• New High School Girls Golf Programs: This year I offered free instruction to 3 High Schools who launched their first ever Girls High School Golf Team. The three schools were Parkview, Amherst, and Rhinelander. Each school sent 10 new golfers to the academy and I spent time working on the full swing and the short game with all of these girls.
Golfer Give Back Program: In collaboration with Creekside Elementary School in Sun Prairie, I launched the Golfer Give Back Program, which uses golf as a tool to improve community engagement and quality of life. Working with the Golf Foundation of Wisconsin, we assisted in purchasing a food cooler for the school’s newly established food bank, helping to provide food to families in need. Additionally, my team and I visited the school to teach golf to 65 third-grade students using Snag Golf equipment, a fun and accessible tool for young beginners. To further promote the sport, I spent in afternoon with twelve physical education teachers from the Sun Prairie district teaching them how to use SNAG golf with all of their students.
Please share any programming you have made to keep your customers & students engaged:
I spend a majority of my time teaching this great game of golf. Here is a list of programming I use to keep my students engaged: 3-month Winterizer Program that runs January-March, Year-Round Women's only Golf Academy, LPGA Amateur Association clinics, PGA Junior League for 13U and 17U, 7-week junior summerizer program, Women only sips and tips clinics, Men only swigs and swings clinics, and private lessons and club fittings.
