Please indicate any Growth of the Game initiatives your facility/academy has launched over the past year (please give specifics on such programs):
Over 10 years ago the idea came about regarding bringing the golf course to young people, especially those who may never find it. Also, it is about letting high school students have an opportunity to experience not only the game of golf but also First Tee’s life skills, helping students grow on and off the course.
Through the Morton Golf Foundation, of which I am the President, I have been fundraising for the past few years to build such a facility, and now, once it was completed, we can now begin to make a big difference through golf in the Sacramento community.
We have begun mentoring and guiding the Hiram Johnson High School students in the game of golf as well as the area's different schools, most all of which would not otherwise touch the game.
As the facility continues to grow, we will be adding not only after school programs but weekend and year-round golf skills as well.
Please share any programming you have made to keep your customers & students engaged:
The Northern California Institute of Golf offers something for everyone. We take great pride in knowing at every age and at every step of one's golf journey, we have something for you to keep you growing, learning and inspired to play. This is just a snapshot of our youth programming showing this. We have the same opportunities on the adult side as well.
