Please indicate any Growth of the Game initiatives your facility/academy has launched over the past year (please give specifics on such programs):
Over the past year, we have added several junior golf clinics as that is something I love to do. Introducing more young children into this game helps build the growth factor for clubs and facilities. We added a weekly junior class throughout the year so that they can learn the game when easiest for them so that they can engage in other sports as well. We retained at least 10 kids per session which helped them get ready for the golf course and tournaments.

We implemented the US Kids system in the junior program and the ladies program. The ladies are very fond of this program as they struggle with Tee to Green at times. We focused on building strengths around the green and from 50 yards and in so that they became more confident in their short game. Once we did that, we saw scores lower and more enjoyable experiences on the course. The ladies wanted to play more and continue to challenge themselves as they progressed. Seeing the ladies program soar because of this and make their time on the course more enjoyable is something that I am so proud to be a part of.

Briarwood has allowed the DePaul Prep High School Golf Team to practice and use their facilities. I am currently the Head Coach for the JV and Varsity teams and having this facility to use has helped the girls grow tremendously. Our scores have gone down and their ability to navigate the a course has become so much stronger. The girls advanced to Sectionals this year which is an incredible testimate to their hard work.

In the coming winter months, we will be adding weekly Junior and Ladies clinics on week days and weekends to give access to those who are looking for more in the winter to participate. With club memberships at an all time high and members staying local, we are going to provide more opportunities for them to be at the club.

Please share any programming you have made to keep your customers & students engaged:
Over the past year, I have worked on staying in touch with my students after lessons so that if they have questions, I am available for them. I created a notes tab for each student so that we can compare notes and access them at any time they practice or work on their game. They can add in key words or phrases that they like to remember so that I know what words to use as we continue learning. I also share videos with them of their swings, I will do a voice over for those that are working on their game in between lessons and help describe what I am seeing. Reminding them what are the key focuses is important along with anything else you may have worked on. Reassuring a student has been on of the biggest compliments that I have received.

One of the greatest rewards as an instructor comes from hearing positive feedback from students and their parents. When a student shares how much fun they had or looks forward to their next lesson, it creates an exciting energy. Imagine being on the range, practicing your swing for 30 minutes, and finally hitting a shot with a slight draw that lands right on your target green. The thrill of that moment, combined with a coach’s encouraging smile and high five, is priceless. This enthusiasm carries through every lesson because, for many students, it might be the highlight of their day. Building this kind of relationship transforms lessons from routine instruction into engaging and enjoyable experiences. Ultimately, I want every student to leave feeling accomplished and eager to return for more.
