RANGE PROMOTION:
2022 Proved to be a tremendous year for golf. Golf as a whole was an extremely sought after recreational activity as we moved away from pandemic protocols. We saw our customer’s enthusiasm for the game pick up steam at the end of 2021 and climbed even higher in 2022. Promoting our Membership offerings is by far the most worthwhile focus each year. Starting in November (‘21) we offered a “Members Only” registration window to return for the following season. We held previous season pricing to encourage early registration. Our Membership offerings are also limited, so the early exclusive member registration window would also guarantee a spot for the following season. Direct mail and email campaigns detailing this promotion proved extremely popular and most current members took advantage. The 15 day Member exclusive saw a 15% increase in revenue when compared to the previous year’s early bird offering (which was over a 3 month timeframe). Once this promotion ended we opened up the remaining memberships to everyone, still offering the previous year’s rates. In the end, our “Early Bird” Membership offering produced a 20% increase in Membership revenue when compared to the same timeframe from the previous year (which was a then record high)! A Sun ‘N Air Membership includes unlimited access to our putting, chipping, and 3-hole course areas. Members can also add on features such as unlimited range balls and access to our natural grass tee. Our add-on features completely sold out in February of 2022 – which was about 3 months before the natural grass areas were set to open. 2022 marked the first time we sold out before the season even started! Promoting our membership sale is extremely beneficial as we are able to form a strong customer bond with each throughout the entire year. They usually end up being our best customers and we see benefits in many other areas across our range activities – including club fitting, instruction, and merchandise sales. Looking ahead, there has been an even more overwhelming response for 2023, even out pacing 2022’s record setting highs!

SPECIAL PROGRAMMING:
Each season we continue to give back through numerous donations made to not only our community but also our surrounding communities that support us. We also work with local programs from the Northeast Arc, multiple Recreation Departments, School Districts and College Golf Teams. The Endicott College Golf Team, which practices at Sun ‘N Air throughout the year, has won the NCAA Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship 7 times. Throughout the season we work with all of these programs and allow them to use our facility for clinics or practice sessions. Helping these programs out is important not only to give back to the community but also to help grow the game of golf. The growth of Junior and Young Adult programs are vital to the future of the game and we are grateful that we can help in this process as we continue to help our young golfers in our communities.
Partnering with Cherry Farm Creamery we have an annual “Ice Cream for Breakfast” event held on the first Saturday of February. The event draws 1000’s each year to support a local cause. Typically not a busy day for golf the event brings in people and helps us gear up for the upcoming golf season. This season we also held two pet adoption days benefiting Sweet Paws Rescue. Sun ‘N Air provided a venue for the dogs to come and hopefully find their forever families. These events drew new customers and the dogs certainly made it difficult for our regulars to concentrate on their swings that day.
