Please indicate any Growth of the Game initiatives your facility/academy has launched over the past year (please give specifics on such programs):
On course learning sessions are a huge Growth of the Game initiative at my club. Our club's membership, while varied, is mostly comprised of busy professionals with limited time for recreation, in order to maximize their time available I've built our group instruction sessions around pre-scheduled events at the club. This has allowed members to coordinate their plans much easier. This has caused engagement with members that may not normally have made time for golf. I have also developed Junior Clinics in concert with our Adult Clinics which has allowed the game to be enjoyed by the whole family. Our All-Women's Golf Schools member participation have steadily doubled each year as I have grown the program. The female members have praised this as a not just a pathways for learning but also a strong network of potential playing partners.
Please share any programming you have made to keep your customers & students engaged:
Over the past year, I have focused heavily on building programs that not only improve players skills but also grow the game by creating confidence and fostering community. I currently run two clinics each week in the winter, one dedicated to range and short game fundamentals, and the other held on the course for 90 minutes. The On-Course session builds on previously covered topics to reinforces the skills learned earlier in the week, while guiding players through the challenges of applying them in a new environment. This structure has led to tremendous growth in member engagement and connection, as participants are paired together and learn along side each other. Many golfers who were initially uncomfortable or inexperienced in On-Course situations now find themselves having no problem coming out on their own or with friends.
Another great initiative I have developed are Catered Wine Clinics for men and women. These events allow the atmosphere to be relaxed but also very conducive for learning as there is more of a social/networking aspect rather than worrying about skill level. I usually make these putting clinics so all feel like it is a very approachable aspect of the game.
