Academy Training Memberships
Our Academy Training Memberships have been a game changer—for our students, our coaching staff, and the overall success of our player development model. This monthly membership program offers structured, long-term coaching at three levels of training for both adults and juniors: Intermediate, Advanced, and Elite. All tiers emphasize four core pillars of development: game management, mindset, purposeful practice, and swing technique.
Each level includes unlimited access to our Academy Practice Center and remote swing coaching via the CoachNow app. The specific training structure varies by tier:
Adult Training Levels
· Level 1 ($150/month): Weekly remote swing reviews via CoachNow—ideal for independent learners seeking periodic coaching
· Level 2 ($250/month): Three 90-minute range sessions + one on-course session monthly (6:1 student/coach ratio)
· Level 3 ($350/month): Four weekly 2-hour sessions alternating between range and course training (4:1 ratio), designed for competitive adult golfers
Junior Training Levels
The junior tiers mirror the adult offerings, with an added Elite level ($450/month) that includes:
· Weekly two-hour sessions (4:1 ratio)
· Regular coaching calls
· Parent consultations
· Tournament prep and college recruiting support
Participant Numbers & Structure
I personally lead four training groups per week—two adult and two junior groups. With all groups at capacity and waitlisted, the program generates over $8,000/month in recurring lesson revenue. The commitment model requires a three-month minimum, and each student signs a coaching agreement outlining expectations for attendance, independent practice, and goal setting.
Positive Impact on Player Development
What sets this program apart is our commitment to coaching the whole player, not just the golf swing. By incorporating the Modern Coach philosophy promoted by PGA Coach, we’ve created a holistic environment where students receive:
· Consistent, in-person small group training
· Purposeful assignments between sessions
· Remote feedback for reinforcement
· A clear development plan tailored to their goals
For juniors, the results are remarkable: nearly every Elite participant has reached their high school golf goals and gone on to play at the NCAA level. For adults, retention is our best indicator of success—most members renew season after season, and every training group is currently full with a waitlist.
Why It’s Been So Successful
· Structured Progression: Students know exactly what to expect and how to improve
· Value & Access: Compared to our private lesson rate ($150/hour or $500 for four), members receive up to 8 hours/month of small group instruction, unlimited range access, and remote coaching for as little as $250–450/month
· Instructor Sustainability: With fewer hours on the range and more consistent group sessions, I’ve increased my effective hourly rate to $225 while reducing total teaching time
· Facility Impact: The program has significantly increased lesson revenue, attracted serious long-term students, and enhanced our Academy’s reputation as a high-performance, player-first environment
This model ultimately helped me step into my new role as Head Golf Professional in 2024, as it allowed me to scale my instruction, grow the Academy’s reach, and mentor my assistant professionals more effectively.
