Academy Training Memberships

Our Academy Training memberships have been a game changer for both my students and coaches. This program is a monthly membership with various levels of training that yield long-term results by focusing on four key areas: game management, mindset, purposeful practice, and swing technique. We offer three different levels for adults and juniors—intermediate, advanced, and elite. All levels include unlimited access to our Academy Practice Center and remote coaching via our CoachNow App, with variations in the weekly training provided.

Adult Training Levels:
• Level 1: This membership includes weekly remote coaching swing reviews through the app for $150 per month. It’s perfect for independent students who enjoy practicing on the range but need a coach for periodic guidance.
• Level 2: This membership includes weekly group training at a 6:1 student-to-coach ratio. It consists of three 90-minute range sessions and one on-course session for $250 per month, ideal for intermediate golfers looking to improve their swing and other aspects of the game.
• Level 3: Targeted at advanced to elite players preparing for competition, this level includes four weekly two-hour training sessions, alternating between on- and off-course training at a 4:1 ratio, for $350 per month.

Junior Training Levels:

The Junior Training memberships mirror the Adult Training options but include an additional elite level for $450. This elite level encompasses all the features of the Adult Level 3 membership, plus regular coaching calls, parent consultations, tournament preparation, and college recruitment assistance.

I believe these training memberships are successful because we emphasize being true coaches rather than just swing instructors. There is a three-month commitment for each group, and students sign a commitment letter to attend all training sessions, engage in independent practice between sessions, and complete all purposeful practice assignments. At the beginning of each month, we evaluate progress. If a student fails to attend sessions or engage in independent practice, they understand that their progress may not meet their three-month goals.

For my elite-level juniors, nearly every participant has achieved their high school golf goals and gone on to compete at the NCAA level. The success of my adult training groups is evident in the retention rate; all my groups are full with waitlists, as most students renew their memberships season after season.

The positive impact on player development stems from our adoption of the Modern Coach philosophy developed by PGA Coach. These programs offer consistent in-person training at a more affordable rate per hour, while also increasing the effective hourly income for all my instructors. In 2022, I updated all our Academy player development programs, positioning the Academy Training memberships as our most attractive offering. While our 50-minute private lesson rate is $150 (with a series of four costing $500), students seeking a structured plan and coaching recognize that 8 hours of small group training for $350-450 is a valuable deal, especially with the inclusion of unlimited range privileges and remote coaching.

I focus on one training group per day, managing a total of four groups—two for adults and two for juniors. With all my groups full, I generate over $7,000 in monthly lesson revenue on a recurring basis. This success has not only allowed me to reduce my time on the range each day but has also increased my effective hourly rate to $218.75. Nearly doubling my lesson income and freeing up half my time on the range has enabled me to advance to the Head Golf Professional position at my facility this year.
