Please indicate any Growth of the Game initiatives your facility/academy has launched over the past year (please give specifics on such programs):
I oversee a full instructional ecosystem at Springfield Golf & Country Club and TGA of Fairfax, reaching more than 1,500 golfers a year across private lessons, adult academies, junior academies, community programs, and school-based enrichment.
Key initiatives:
• Expanded SGCC Junior Golf Academy to 101, 202, and 303 levels with 7-week cycles and LTAD-aligned on-course baseline and retest scoring.
• Added Future 36’ers (ages 3–6) to introduce early-age players with a fun, movement-based curriculum.
• Built complete Golf Fore Women and Men’s Golf Academy tracks (101 and 202), attracting over 120 adult beginners and returning players yearly.
• Created an 18-session winter Stack Speed Training program for all skill levels.
• Launched a Junior Indoor Match Play League using the simulator room, giving juniors winter competition and structure.
• Through TGA of Fairfax, delivered golf, tennis, pickleball, and soccer programs at 40+ schools and HOAs, introducing more than 1,000 new juniors to golf fundamentals in a fun, accessible format.
• Developed a combined Golf + Pickleball camp model, piloted at private schools and community sites with excellent retention rates.
• Built a direct pipeline from TGA school programs into SGCC clinics, camps, and lesson programs.
• Partnered with Villarreal Virginia Academy to build a youth soccer feeder system applying LTAD principles that complement golf athletic development.
Please share any programming you have made to keep your customers & students engaged:
Engagement is the backbone of my teaching model at SGCC and TGA.
• Monthly and seasonal academies with clear progression levels and consistent scheduling
• Baseline scoring and retest scoring for juniors to measure strokes gained
• Winter simulator programs that maintain skill growth during off-season
• Weekly ladies clinics, men’s clinics, and specialty short-game schools
• Player development plans for juniors and adults built around goals, practice structure, and accountability
• Dedicated parent and player communication channels
• Junior match play, PGA Junior League, and on-course competitive pathways
• Structured “Break 80” adult practice program for self-guided training
• Cross-sport development opportunities through TGA (pickleball, tennis, soccer) to support athleticism and retention
• Community presence through HOA partnerships, banners, and school events that keep families plugged in
Across both SGCC and TGA, students stay connected through year-round programming, clear communication, measurable improvement, and a fun, welcoming environment.
