Best range promotion: This year’s biggest promotion on the range was our demo day event in June. Our now annual event is dubbed Golf-a-palooza and consists of several leading golf manufacturers, a kids’ area with a Golfzilla and other games as well as a large bar and grill. This year’s event drew over 100 members, many of whom came just for the food and drinks. Our total sales for 2016’s Golf-a-palozza topped $20,000, a big day for us. The event has been a huge hit, we’ve already started planning for 2017, thinking about the addition of food trucks, live music and more!

Special Programs: Each year, Onwentsia hosts the Lurie Children’s Hospital Pro-Am. This 56 year old event has raised almost 20 million dollars for the hospital, 1.7 million in 2016. For this year’s event, we partnered with our friends from Taylormade Golf and created and experiential event at the range for the day. Taylormade set up two fitting centers with all of their available equipment. Working with Taylormade’s ten staffers, the 260 plus participants in the Pro-Am were able to try out all of the new Taylormade equipment. The feedback was very positive. The folks felt like they were tour players for the day and enjoyed the opportunity to try out all of the gear and have a professional fitting. Just this year alone, my Taylormade business is up 250%, largely from the exposure the experiential day provided during the Pro-Am.
