SPECIAL PROGRAMMING:
At our facility we have been involved with various community organizations in the local area. One program which we have been involved in is with Special Olympics. This program uses the game of golf to help those with intellectual disabilities to discover new strengths and abilities. We currently host the Special Olympics of Washington Regional Golf Tournament for over 13 years. Another program we worked with this year is Kings in Training, which is a program that gives young men adult mentors with the goal of creating men who are leaders in communities, home, and their environment. First Tee South Puget Sound which is headquartered at Meadow Park, is creating programming in 83 schools in the local community. Another organization we service at the facility is the Tacoma Rescue Mission which has a mission to bring hope and healing to the most impoverished in Pierce County. We host 5 High Schools and 2 colleges . Hosted a day out at the Ball Park (Rainer’s Baseball Game)& Fundraiser with community partners First Tee & Metro Parks Tacoma . Had a family throw out the first pitch. All of these programs use the resources of our practice facility, golf course, and staff.
