Please indicate any Growth of the Game initiatives your facility/academy has launched over the past year (please give specifics on such programs):
-Advent Health Korn Ferry Women’s Day: The tournament staff came to me with an idea of having a women’s only day the week of the local KF event, I was in charge of the clinic portion, and also served as a Panelist for the luncheon post golf and clinic. The event was sold out, had a waiting list and we are already planning 2025!
-Each year I host a variety of beginner women’s clinics through various associations or businesses throughout KC to help break any barriers down that women have toward starting a journey with the game of golf. An example is the EmpowHER event that Henderson Engineering Hosts with upwards of 60 women yearly.
-Watson Links: Watson Links Board member, Mr. Watson asked a small group to help him create an initiative to help grow the game through juniors and a mentorship program. Served since the inception in 2020. Oakwood is a host facility for events for WatsonLinks
-Summer Junior Golf programs: Oakwood Littles for 4-7 year olds & Oakwood Juniors for 8-12 year olds
Please share any programming you have made to keep your customers & students engaged:
-Dust the Rust Spring Series, 5 lessons as refreshers after a long winter break from golf.
-Oakwood University: Educational Series offered by my staff and I through the Winter and hopefully season
-Women Who Golf: Wednesday morning clinics with a different topic each week
-Chicks with Sticks: Wednesday evening clinics prior to beginner women’s golf league
-Guest Instructor Series: I try to have 2-4 guest teaching pros from various parts of KC region or country to come in and offer clinics with myself on various topics
