Sometimes using an already-proven program works best, which is why Operation 36 is integral to my junior and ladies programming at The Carolina Country Club. Since 2016, the first year we introduced Operation 36, 737 participants have enrolled in his semester long classes and, and 203 of them have been part of the semester long classes at The Carolina Country Club since 2021. Operation 36 is currently in more than 700 locations worldwide and has over 2800 coaches in the network. It is a long-term development program that is based on on-course work and an education curriculum. The subjects or skills include posture, power, grip, ball flight, greens reading, alignment, putting, mastery, honor, fitness, nutrition and playing. There are six levels or ranks for each of the twelve subjects. On the course, the golfers start from 25 yards and must shoot 36 or better to move to 50 yards, then to 100 yards, progressing all the way back to the adult tees. This highly effective method emphasizes the importance of scoring and learning how to get the ball in the hole. Encouragement and excitement can hardly be contained when our players are putting for birdies (and even eagles!) instead of having spent six or seven shots just to reach the green.

In 2015, I wanted to teach students a highly effective method of greens reading, so I pursued AimPoint Express certification under Mark Sweeney. To date, I’ve instructed more than 200 students in AimPoint greens reading, including PGA, LPGA, mini-tour professionals and college teams. I’m currently one of five people in South Carolina and the only one in the Upstate certified to teach AimPoint, providing an option to golfers all around the Southeast seeking this particular instruction.
