Please indicate any Growth of the Game initiatives your facility/academy has launched over the past year (please give specifics on such programs):
We added clinics and seminars featuring “Experts in their Field”.
This included several different Physical Therapy Sessions, Yoga and Myofascial Release,
StretchLab, Mental Game featuring a local Sports Psychologist. We also added two Junior Golf Fitness facilities including Under Armour and Parisi Speed Clinic.
This gave our Academy greater legitimacy as we pulled in experts to enhance our clients golf experience.
We added Parent/Junior events to the mix in a more organized fashion this year.
We kicked off the season with a Parent Junior Range Clinic and Putting Competition on January 1.
It was a complimentary session and a great way to kick off the season for the families who came to many of our programs last year.
Then we added a Mash Up Parent Junior League in the Fall.
It included a few clinics, putting competitions and 3 matches.
Our 17th Annual Parent Junior Alternate Shot Fundraiser in the Fall was well attended and supported again this year.
We will wrap it up with a fall golf trip to Shenandoah Valley for a small group of Parents and Juniors.
We hosted a Long Drive Competition featuring Top Tracer Technology.
We received sponsorship for prizes from Stifel Finance.
It was well-attended and we will repeat it again next season.
Please share any programming you have made to keep your customers & students engaged:
We added more Top Tracer sessions to our classes, clinics and camps.
At our range, our Academy has a dedicated practice area that is not equipped with Top Tracer so taking spaces from customers in the main range Top Tracer space is not always a wise business decision. However, this year we anticipated times that the range would not be as busy so we could utilize the technology for our clientele.
We added more coach assisted practice sessions for our adults and juniors both at the range and on the course. This allowed our clients to afford more quality practice time and gave our coaches a chance to reach more people. It also kept our range and course busier in off peak hours.
Late in the season I began experimenting with AI in programming and for administrative issues.
Here are 3 ways I have utilized it and I’m just touching the surface.
1.) It really helped when I was asked to teach a student with early onset Alzheimer’s- I was able to use ChatGBT to find some really helpful techniques that have made for a healthy experience for the client, her family and our staff. We are now doing weekly lessons.
2.)Two of our juniors in the autism spectrum that were presenting us with some challenges are now thriving with the help of ChatGBT.
3.)When I was faced with a challenging situation with a staff member, I consulted ChatGBT and found several ways to deal with a problem that was exhausting my patience.. I learned that i can do a much better job at providing guidance as to what is expected from staff, as well as giving more immediate feedback.
I know by next season I will have a much better idea of how to apply AI to build better programs and grow as a leader.
