GROWTH OF THE GAME INITIATIVES: SANKATY HEAD GOLF CLUB

This season at Sankaty Head we continued to expand our offerings to improve mobility and movement training for our members. In addition to our continuing Golf Forever training program, Sankaty Head was the third facility in the United States to introduce neuromuscular stimulation therapy as part of a golf movement program. Working with Peter Egazarian, Director of Instruction at Farmington Country Club and head of golf protocol for NeuX technology, we implemented a program that addresses a golfer’s emotional regulation, mind-body connection and muscular rehabilitation. This program greatly accelerated swing technique improvement. The use of NeuX technology was eye-opening for our members with Parkinson’s disease as well as those suffering mobility challenges from old injuries and general aging challenges. As a teacher, it was thrilling to be able to help students bridge the gaps between swing concept learning, practice and performance.

This year we also continued to elevate our women’s instructional program by creating a special experience for our Ladies Golf Association opening play day. I invited Brittany Lincicome, 8-time LPGA Tour winner and 2-time major champion to join me for a two-day women’s golf school. Prior to our school, Brittany and I hosted a Q&A discussion during our ladies opening day luncheon. We had a record number of 75 participants attend our ladies opening play day. In addition to discussing Brittany’s incredible career, we shared insights regarding course management, the challenges of competition and how to practice effectively. Our two-day ladies golf school included 26 participants who enjoyed the following sessions: “Become A Power Player Off The Tee”, “Become a Wedge Wizard: Pitch Shots & Bunkers”, “Become A Power Player: Fairway Wood & Hybrids” and “The Power Of Your Mind: Handle Pressure Like A Tour Pro”.

Beyond our two-day women’s school featuring Brittany Lincicome, we also hosted our inaugural Titleist Women’s Clinic series. Over the course of one month, we hosted 4 educational experiences that blended skill building and with a comprehensive women’s club fitting. The goal of this program was to educate our women members about how the right equipment can make the game easier and more fun. With the correct equipment, improvement is faster. At the end of each session, we helped our members learn which clubs and specifications, regardless of brand, would best help their games.

Week one featured Vokey SM10 wedges, pitch shots and bunker shots. Week two featured Scotty Cameron putters and putting. Week three featured full swing fundamentals with GT hybrids and fairway woods. Week four featured full swing fundamentals with GT Drivers. This educational program was a huge success making equipment education accessible and understandable for women golfers. At the conclusion of each clinic we saw a 30% purchase rate of Titleist equipment. Throughout the season, we saw a 65% increase in the number of women attending demo days or taking a private fitting sessions.

In addition to elevating women’s instructional experience, 2025 was our most robust guest teacher program to-date. In addition to hosting Peter Egazarian and Brittany Lincicome, we included schools featuring Top 100 teacher Monique Thoresz and award-winning putting coach Preston Combs. Monique and I created “The Ultimate Swing Fix School” highlighting her specialized ground forces program. Preston returned to Sankaty for the second time, sharing his putting stroke system and providing Aim Point sessions. In total, 86 participants attended our 4 guest teacher schools. Following each school, I hosted an educational seminar/dinner for our entire golf team to network and learn from our guest teachers.

We continued growing our junior golf program by building on our 2024 initiatives. We redesigned our junior golf pathway making it even easier for juniors of all levels to find programming that meets their learning needs. Our three main levels included Introduction to Golf, Train-to-Play & Train-to Compete. For new golfers we offered three-day junior camps and weekly beginner skills clinics. For the train-to-play level we offered a junior player program, junior “operation 36” play days, weekly intermediate skills clinics and PGA Junior League. For the train-to-compete level we offered a 2-day elite junior camp, junior player program, junior play days and PGA Junior League. At every stage, our junior instructional program includes elements from PGA Coach, US Kids Golf, Operation 36, TPI, and Vision54.

As well as being the Director of Instruction at Sankaty Head Golf Club, I am the owner of LifeLong Golf. LifeLong Golf creates learning and playing experiences worldwide. This year I hosted 6 destination golf schools and 4 clinic series at private clubs across the United States. Coaching alongside me, our LifeLong Golf programs included 7 award-winning PGA/LPGA coaches. In 2025, a total of 214 golfers (men and women) improved their games while making lifelong memories and connections with other golfers across the country.

Our private club clinic series were hosted at: Johns Island Club (FL), Farmington Country Club (VA), Oakwood Country Club (MO) and Old Tabby Links (SC).

Unique to this year, I also co-hosted a women’s day clinic series for the Advent Health Korn Ferry Tour Championship. Fellow PGA Professional Maureen Farrell and I taught a clinic series for 65 women. As part of this day, I was also a featured panelist at the Advent Health women’s luncheon. Speaking alongside Korn Ferry Tour President Alex Baldwin and leaders in the medical industry, I presented tools that women can use to manage pressure, work-life balance, expectations and performance goals.
