Please indicate any Growth of the Game initiatives your facility/academy has launched over the past year (please give specifics on such programs):
I am the Director of Player Development for the New Mexico State University PGA Golf Management Program where I am responsible for player development and instructor development. I am also the Director of Instruction at Red Hawk Golf Club in Las Cruces, NM where I operate one of the largest PGA Jr. Leagues in the country.
In 2022, I introduced our PGA Golf Management Students and Hawks Nest (academy) juniors to Mach 3 Speed Training this Fall and will be introducing our PGA Jr. League players to it in the Spring. I saw great potential for the Mach 3 concepts and I am really excited to make it part of our curriculum moving forward.
Please share any programming you have made to keep your customers & students engaged:
I am most proud of the way I have combined my involvement in the PGA Golf Management Program and PGA Jr. League. For the past five years, I have hired up to 24 PGA Golf Management Students to work as coaches for our PGA Jr. League, which includes over 100 kids per season. We host two seasons per year and in 2023 will add a third season, a Spring Training to incorporate Mach 3 and principles of the American Development Model (ADM) to build the athlete first and the golfer second.
We were most recently featured on CBS and ESPN for our involvement in PGA Jr. League. The entire CBS Special is worth watching but our story starts at the 29:27-minute mark. https://vimeo.com/707614316https://vimeo.com/627639364/description
