Hank was born in Birmingham, Alabama. He played collegiate golf at Auburn where he finished runner-up in the SEC Championship in 1962. He played on the PGA Tour for two years and the remainder of his career has been in golf instruction. Mr. Johnson is the Founder and Master Instructor of the Hank Johnson School of Golf.
