We donate our facilities both in the summer and Mistwood Golf Dome (GRAA Top 50 Stand Alone Facilities) to two programs. The first is the VGA (Veterans Golf Association) and a special needs program run by the CDGA at our facility called Sunshine through Golf. We have conducted a number of fittings with them having limited mobility or use of a wheel chair ranging from a driver fitting to a putter fitting.

How do you stay up to date on product and clubfitting best practices?
TaylorMade, Titleist and Callaway provide us the opportunity to visit their facilities in Carlsbad California. This is to have in-person round table discussions of what is happening back in our green grass fittings and what can be done better for the future of clubfitting.
We are able to attend the yearly PGA Show in Orlando Florida to see the latest in equipment at the Demo Day and on the showroom floor during the week.
Recently attended PGA Magazine PGA Professionals’ National Clubfitting Conference at North Shore Country Club for another type of in-person round table discussions of what is happening at our facilities and what can be done better for future fittings. Also had hands on learning of best practices with PING and Foresight representatives at the conference.

What industry products/services would help you be a better clubfitter?
It starts with the golf shaft companies. If they would be able to come together, a lot like the club manufacturers, and have a better explanation of what their shaft/s do regarding all different types of golfer’s swings and tempos, it would not be as confusing to the general golfer during a fitting.
