SPECIAL PROGRAMMING:
As one of three facilities operated by First Tee – Greater Richmond, community impact is a pivotal part of our operations. Throughout the year we held three 8 week sessions of youth programming, 4 weeks of summer camp, two field trips with local elementary schools, and numerous other events in between. Our junior programs start at age 4 and work with kids all the way through high school. We provide affordable golf classes and financial aid for families in need. In addition to our youth programming impact, we have partnerships with the Richmond Flying Squirrels minor league baseball team and Richmond Kickers minor league soccer team. We hosted clinics such as PGA H.O.P.E. which is a free golf clinic for veterans or active duty military and LPGA Amateur group which provided instruction for women golfers in the area. We are also the home practice site for Virginia Commonwealth University and Virginia Union University’s Men’s golf teams. As a partnership with Virginia Union, we hosted an HBCU tournament at our Belmont golf course.
