Please indicate any Growth of the Game initiatives your facility/academy has launched over the past year (please give specifics on such programs):
Over the past year, I’ve continued to expand on the Growth of the Game initiatives I established at my facility in previous years. Over the last ten years, I’ve increased lesson participation by more than 100% and introduced many non-members to the facility, many of whom have become members. As Director of Instruction, I’ve had the freedom to develop innovative programming and create learning opportunities that help students not only enjoy the game more but also stay engaged with it for the long term. I’ve also focused on sparking enthusiasm for golf among students and juniors, ensuring they don’t abandon the game prematurely due to its challenges.
This past year, I launched two new initiatives designed to elevate player development and engagement: the Alison Curdt Golf Performance Portal and 2-Day Immersive Golf Camps.
The Performance Portal is a digital platform that extends the learning experience beyond the lesson tee. It provides students with personalized feedback, practice plans, performance tracking, and mental game resources rooted in sport psychology. The mental performance section allows players to reflect on confidence levels, emotional regulation, and course mindset—key components in maintaining composure and consistency under pressure. This online hub has created year-round engagement, enabling students to stay connected to their improvement process while fostering accountability and measurable progress.
Complementing the digital experience are the 2-Day Immersive Golf Camps, designed to identify root causes of swing inefficiencies and accelerate breakthroughs through focused, hands-on instruction. These small-group sessions combine skill development, movement screening, and on-course coaching to help players integrate technique, strategy, and decision-making in real playing conditions. The camps also emphasize performance habits such as pre-shot routine, visualization, and adaptability, allowing students to experience immediate application of what they learn.
I continue to incorporate mental strategy, course management, rules, and etiquette in my on-course sessions, and every program I run includes ample time spent on the course. This approach has been pivotal in helping students translate what they learn on the range into real-world performance, accelerating their progress and boosting their enjoyment of the game.
Please share any programming you have made to keep your customers & students engaged:
Over the past year, I’ve expanded my player engagement strategy by combining personalized coaching with technology-driven communication that keeps students connected, accountable, and motivated—even when they’re away from the lesson tee.
Each coaching relationship begins with a TPI movement assessment, swing evaluation, and mental game inventory to build a complete picture of the student’s performance needs. Together, we set clear expectations for lesson frequency, mental performance exercises, and physical fitness goals, often in collaboration with their trainer or therapist to support long-term development.
Engagement is sustained through multiple touchpoints that go beyond traditional instruction. I now use OnForm 3D not only for swing analysis, but also to broadcast announcements and personalized video messages to students, helping them stay connected between sessions. I’ve also created an email database to re-engage students who haven’t taken lessons in six months, sharing tailored updates, seasonal tips, and upcoming program invitations to spark renewed participation. On social media, I share drills, mindset reminders, and performance insights that reinforce lesson content and keep students motivated between sessions.
Students are encouraged to upload practice videos or photos on weeks without lessons so progress can be monitored consistently. This ongoing communication creates a sense of shared accountability and support—when students know their coach is invested in their success, their motivation and follow-through improve significantly.
A major addition this year has been the launch of my online performance portal subscription, which provides students with continuous engagement focused on their mental game. Through self-reflection prompts, practice journals, and performance mindset exercises, the portal gives players tools to develop emotional regulation, confidence, and focus outside of lessons. It serves as a bridge between instruction and competition, helping them build mental consistency to match their technical skills.
By integrating technology, communication, and mental performance strategies, I’ve built a coaching ecosystem that keeps students engaged throughout their development. This approach not only sustains motivation and measurable improvement but also fosters long-term commitment to growth, performance, and enjoyment of the game.
