Special programs:

The Chi Chi Rodriguez Golf Club and Driving Range is a 170 acre public golf course and range operated by the Chi Chi Rodriguez Youth Foundation, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization. 42 years ago Chi Chi Rodriguez and his team led the way in uniting the public and private education sectors promoting values, academics and social skills for children learning within an operating business. The Foundation is considered visionary in the approach to linking business and classroom relevance for children who are behind academically. The 170 acres is considered a living classroom for the students and participants of the educational programs. Through their five years at the Academy public school, students shadow employees of all aspects of the Foundation business, including golf operations as well as course and range maintenance.

Since the Golf Club and Driving Range are businesses of the Foundation, all proceeds go back into educational programs, approximately 25 cents of every dollar spent. The Driving Range is home to the First Tee Clearwater program, hosting approximately 400 local youth each year for life skills experience golf programs. First Tee programs are designed around teaching young people the game of golf, as well as helping them understand and ultimately develop the First Tee Nine Core Values: honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, respect, confidence, responsibility, perseverance, courtesy and judgment. The curriculum was developed by experts in the field of positive youth development through sports and is delivered by caring adults (coaches) who have been formally trained by First Tee. This program is also invested in growing the game through the National School Program (NSP) currently in seven local elementary schools serving over 3,200 local youth. NSP introduces the game of golf to students in a fun and safe environment with their P.E. teacher while meeting national education standards.
