Special programs:

Giving back to the community is an important part of what we believe and do here at Cedar Crest Golf Course. It is our goal to be active in our community. We do this through community initiatives, free golf clinics, career days at local schools and many other activities.

As a part of our giving back to the community over the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday, we host a food drive. This event has been very successful so far. Customers bring out no perishable food items to add to our community food drive initiatives. Since we have been doing this food drive, we have donated over 2 tons of food to the North Texas Food Bank.

During the Christmas holiday, we collect unwrapped and unopened toys to donate to the Martin Luther King Jr. Center. The MLK Jr. Center has a Christmas family giveaway each year. This giveaway is funded through donations from people and entities like Cedar Crest Golf Course. Customers love seeing all the toys under the tree in our golf shop. We have donated hundreds of toys and other items to the MLK Jr. Center.

In an effort to grow the game we host golf clinics and other golf-related events throughout the year. We are a host site for the Texas Scottish Rite Learn to Golf Clinic. This is a golf clinic for the children of Texas Scottish Rite Hospital. We also hosted a group of teenagers with special needs. This was a six-week program that covenanted in this team competing in the City of Irving Special Olympics in the fall of 2018.

We have developed a relationship with St. Phillips School and Community Center located in South Dallas. Through this relationship, we have yearly golf clinics and classes for their students. We have also built relationships and conducted events with Barack Obama Leadership Academy in Dallas ISD, Lamar Middle School in Irving ISD and Elevate 18 Boys Leadership Program. Outside of golf clinics our staff also speak at Career Days for schools in the Dallas ISD.
