Please indicate any Growth of the Game initiatives your facility/academy has launched over the past year (please give specifics on such programs):
Our New Student Assessment Form that are emailed to a student after they sign up for their first lesson is the key to offering all future training and recommendations.
This is elaborated on prompt 12 below.
Also key to building Growth of the Game initiatives is our three venue locations.
State of the Art Private grass tee Academy with enclosed building
A 165 long and 65-foot-high Golf dome with exclusive instruction rights
Two Golf Zon Simulators that allow for indoor winter on course training.
Trackman indoor hitting bay.
This allows us to offer best in class training no matter the weather, no matter the needs of a student. ie It is better to use K Motion 3 D in an indoor bay setting, and during windy days best to go inside the dome to get more relevant numbers.
It is the intention to build golf from the ground up at Robert Dickman Golf. The untapped market of new people entering the game is enormous. To that end we offer by monthly beginner’s golf schools in order to get people who are new or who have never held a club to be able to play on the course in a month.
We get them to hit the ball after the first session and build their game from there, with the intent on them being lifelong players of the game of golf.
Beginner’s School: Semi Monthly throughout the year
Learn the building blocks of a golf swing, how to make consistent contact, causes of off-line shots and corrections, short game and putting skills. Our goal is to give you confidence getting on the course!
We offer the same thing to ladies and juniors with the same goals. We have six weekly lady’s beginner classes for a 9-month period, followed up with advanced classes and specialized classes.
Our junior development classes are based on the TPI Model. Robert Dickman Golf was one of the first in the country to develop that mode.
Again, in these programs we take a young athlete from where they are and have programming every step of the way to develop them into lifelong golfers.
Robert Dickman Golf Junior Golf Development Program
Because Your Child’s Athletic Future is Important to Us
Willow Hill has partnered with Robert Dickman Golf, a leader in Golf Development for over 35 years on the North Shore. Together, they’ve built a junior golf program that provides functional literacy in athletic development while providing a platform for learning and loving golf. It has the organizational structure and knowledge to take a child from start to finish, beginning with athletic fundamentals and culminating in competitive high school/college golf (if desired).
The PGA of America program used is based on the Long-Term Athletic Development and the American Development Model (ADM). The U.S. Olympic Committee and National Governing Bodies created the ADM to help Americans realize their full athletic potential and utilize sports as a path toward an active and healthy lifestyle. The model uses long-term athlete development concepts to coach as many as possible, as long as possible, with the best experience possible.
Golf’s governing bodies (LPGA, The Masters, PGA of America, PGA TOUR, USGA and USA Golf) have partnered with the U.S. Olympic Committee to apply ADM to golf. The goal is to create athletes that love the game, realize their potential and become life-long golfers. The PGA Model program is divided into 7 stages with age appropriate physical and golf skill fundamentals taught at each stage
The PGA Model program is divided into the following stages that will have age appropriate physical and golf skill fundamentals taught at each stage.
Robert Dickman Golf Junior Golf Development Program
The first 5 stages will be taught in the following Willow Hill Programs:
Fundamentals and Learn to Play Stages Junior Clinics (Ages 6-9)
Learn to Play and Play to Improve Program (Ages 10-13)
Play to Compete Stage (Ages 14-18)
Included in each session cost: golf clubs (if needed), balls, tees, tee-times and snacks (for half-day session)
We are also in the process of developing internet-based sessions for our clients and beyond. We plan on making this a contact point for teaching throughout the year and reaching more golfers.
Please share any programming you have made to keep your customers & students engaged:
Each new student receives a New Student Assessment Form. We receive unparalleled data from this form including a player’s interest, athletic history, health report, areas for improvement, and available time/resources. We are in a strong position to offer our various packages and classes based on this. This data is extremely important to help a person improve as rapidly as possible. A programming of events without this is very compromised.

Robert Dickman Golf Strive for Excellence Program was formed to produce high athletic performance and has been a national hot bed for achievement for over 35 years. Students have won over 45 events on tour as well as the Illinois State Junior Amateur, Illinois US Kids Championship, Illinois Mid-Amateur Championship, and countless championships across Illinois and beyond. Countless of junior students have gone on to compete in colleges including Colorado, Marquette, Kentucky, Taylor, Bucknell, Northern Illinois, Illinois, Wesleyan, Carthage, Stetson, Wheaton, Central Iowa, Alabama, Taylor, William & Mary, and Lipscomb. This program has allowed players to develop a skill and a love for the game of a lifetime and for those interested, an ability to compete at an elite level. Although this program has developed countless college players, it does not use a mass-produced cookie cutter format. Bob takes each player where they are in their development and extracts every bit of talent from the individual while teaching strong values and life skills. Bob treats each player as an individual. The personal sessions emphasize skill development while group sessions emphasize skill transfer to the golf course.
