Best range promotion: Because we are in an active flood plain, we have to be careful we don’t create a promotion that we can’t deliver. For that fact, we rarely discount our range balls, except for some select coupons in the late summer and early fall (our hot and dry season). Our demo days are always well attended and have been successful for both our sales and the manufacturers. With several teachers on staff, we walk the line at least once a week for a few hours and give free lessons and advice. The customers appreciate the service and many will purchase follow-up lessons, making the promotion a win-win.

Special programs: We have a very successful Junior Academy which has consistently furnished players for the 6 high schools in our area. We offer full scholarships for those who cannot afford it. Although there are other junior programs in our city, they spend most of their time and effort promoting and fundraising. We do not self-promote (almost to a fault) and run the entire program in-house which allows us to spend all of our time teaching. Another difference in our junior program is that we use our very best and most experienced teachers to work with the kids. Most programs use their worst and least experienced. I’ve always felt like the first lesson a child has is the most important and should be given by the best instructor available. Our success rate is extremely high as measured by kids who continue to play for many years, both in competition and for recreation.

We also offer several discounts for organizations such as the Boys and Girls Club, Big Brothers Big Sisters and many more. But what I am most proud of is the hand to hand work we do with individuals, couples and families to help introduce them to the game of golf. We have a very friendly and helpful staff. On many occasions I have seen a staff member spend an hour or more explaining all that is involved with starting golf to a curious individual. Golf is a daunting endeavor to most and this method seems to be the most effective. If money is an issue, we will donate a few clubs to an individual to get them started as well as give them a free set-up lesson. But most importantly, we give people a road map to be successful at golf by demystifying all of the steps and making their progress and enjoyment more efficient. The environment we have cultivated at Perche Creek has created one of the most diverse customer bases I have seen. We take great pride in that fact.
