Best range promotion: Last October we did a month-long promotion called “Find the Pink Ball” to boost range bucket sales and pro shop revenue while supporting Breast Cancer Awareness month. Here’s a description of the promo:
“When you find a specially marked Callaway Solaire pink golf ball in your range bucket now through October 31, bring it to the pro shop for a chance to win some of the $1,000+ available in PRIZES! The more range buckets you get, the more chances you have to find as many pink golf balls as you can. PLUS, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’ll make a donation to Breast Cancer Research & support charities for each Pink ball turned in to the pro shop.”
The goal was to create a fun incentive for customers to purchase range balls—the more buckets they bought, the more opportunities they had to find a pink ball. We also wanted to increase post peak-season range & pro shop sales, as well as work together with our community to support a positive cause.
As a result, nearly 500 people entered the drawing throughout the month of October 2015. We donated over $500 to Breast Cancer charities, and we met our goals of increasing range bucket and pro shop revenue. Range bucket revenue for October 2015 increased by 5.5% over the previous year. Additionally, we had a 13.8% increase in range revenue from September to October.

Special programs:

Throughout the year we partner with multiple community organizations. In May 2015 we hosted a Blood Drive with the American Red Cross. During the month of December, we had a canned food drive where people received credit toward range buckets when they brought in food items, which we donated to the San Diego Food Bank. We also helped sell tickets for the Farmers Insurance Open and the KIA Classic, where a portion of each ticket sale goes to the Pro Kids | The First Tee of San Diego. Additionally we donate many free range buckets, clubfitting packages, range cards and gift cards to local schools and nonprofits for their auctions and fundraisers.
