True Temper Sports announces the grand opening of a new state-of-the-art shaft testing facility at Ridgeway Country Club in Memphis. The True Temper Ridgeway Test Center will play a crucial role in the company’s world class product development process, and its ongoing efforts to continually bring innovative shaft solutions to the marketplace.
The facility will be home to True Temper’s custom-designed Miya 5 Swing Robot which has the ability to mimic any player’s swing and provide vital feedback about shaft performance. The test center is also equipped with the new cutting-edge Gears Golf System. This motion capture system uses multiple sensors combined with eight different ultra-HD 1.2 megapixel cameras running at 360 frames per second to track every single aspect of equipment performance during a golf swing. By analyzing over 600 images per second, the system can tell company engineers exactly how a particular shaft design deflects throughout the downswing thus providing crucial feedback for product improvement and optimization.
