PGA Show Outdoor Demo Day Tees Off Biggest Week in the Business of Golf Tomorrow, January 23, at the 60th PGA Merchandise Show

As the world’s largest professional golf equipment testing event, the PGA Merchandise Show Outdoor Demo Day will welcome thousands of PGA Professionals and invited retailers for the industry’s exclusive preview and hands-on testing of the newest innovations in golf equipment, tomorrow (Wednesday), Jan. 23, at Orange County National Golf Center & Lodge in Winter Garden, Fla.  The PGA Show Outdoor Demo Day is a precursor to the industry’s annual global business gathering at the PGA Merchandise Show, Jan. 24-26, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.

While the PGA Show Outdoor Demo Day and the PGA Merchandise Show are not open to the public, golf enthusiasts are able to have an exclusive window into the game’s most innovative new equipment, accessories and products, along with leading CEOs and personalities of the game, by following the action atwww.PGA.comwww.pgashow.comwww.golfchannel.com and in nightly reports on the Golf Channel’s Golf Central news program.  Additionally, a one-hour, prime-time Golf Channel television special will capture all the news and newsmakers at the 2013 PGA Merchandise Show on Sunday, Jan. 27, in prime time, and re-air on Monday, Jan. 28.

Within 200-plus hitting bays of the PGA Show Outdoor Demo Day circular range, practice greens, a New Product Preview area and the vendor village of the 42-acre, Orange County National practice facility, influential PGA Professionals and golf retailers will test the hottest equipment and accessories that will drive golf retail sales in the upcoming season from more than 100 top manufacturers including Bridgestone, Callaway Golf, Cleveland Golf/Srixon, COBRA PUMA GOLF, Mizuno, Nike Golf, PING, TaylorMade Golf, Titleist, Tour Edge, Wilson and more.

The PGA Merchandise Show Outdoor Demo Day also will feature new Instructional Workshops presented by leading PGA instructors Hank Haney, Michael Breed and Mike Malaska, who will provide insight into becoming a world class teacher, instructor, and coach to today’s golfers.  Several special appearances will be made by PGA Tour and LPGA players, professional athletes, renowned golf teachers and celebrities including Nick Faldo, Ken Griffey Jr., Penny Hardaway, Michael Hebron, Alonzo Mourning, Anna Nordqvist, John O’Hurley, Blair O’Neal, Jesper Parnevik, Ian Poulter, Jamie Sadlowski, Lexi Thompson and Diego Velasquez.

While Outdoor Demo Day tees off the biggest week in golf for many, the 2013 PGA Merchandise Show doors officially open to more than 40,000 industry attendees from more than 75 countries on Thursday, Jan. 24, at the massive Orange County Convention Center.  More than 1,000 top golf manufacturers and brands, from today’s golf market leaders to emerging companies, create the world’s largest business-to-business golf event. The very best names in golf, along with more than 250 companies new to the PGA Show, are introducing an abundance of new products to drive golf retail in 2013.

The PGA Merchandise Show annually attracts international industry leaders, top CEOs, influential retailers and scores of celebrity endorsers from the realms of professional golf, golf instruction and entertainment.  Davis Love III, the 2012 U.S. Ryder Cup Captain and winner of the 1997 PGA Championship, will join PGA of America Officials in the grand opening of the PGA Merchandise Show at 8:15 a.m. on Thursday, January 24 as officials strike the ceremonial first ball from the 2nd floor stage to open three jam-packed days of golf business.

Love is among a long list of participating celebrities at this year’s industry-only PGA Merchandise Show including PGA Forum stage opening speakers Annika Sorenstam, Ian Poulter and Dottie Pepper.  Additionally, many exhibiting companies will host PGA and LPGA players and renowned PGA teachers including Jesper Parnevik, Luke Donald, Paula Creamer, Natalie Gulbis, Lexi Thompson, Blair O’Neal, Anna Nordqvist, Chi Chi Rodriguez, Lee Trevino, Nancy Lopez, Meg Mallon, Stacy Lewis, Butch Harmon, David Toms, Hank Haney, Michael Breed, Suzann Pettersen and more.

In addition to the busy marketplace among nearly 10 miles of Show aisles in the Orange County Convention Center, Show days are full of professional learning opportunities during industry presentations at the PGA Forum Stage, in the new PGA Education Conference and at daily presentations on the FIT to W.I.N. stage, sponsored by the Titleist Performance Institute.
