OnCore Golf Technology, Inc., a Buffalo, New York-based company announced last month its plans for OnCore Buffalo- a sports entertainment center along the Buffalo River in downtown Buffalo. The estimated project cost $30 Million and it is projected to create around 400-500 jobs when it opens in 2021.
The facility will include a three-tiered golf range equipped with radar and camera analysis systems to track both club and ball data. Customers can record their swings and get instruction in real time. Targets between 50 and 170-yards will make up most of the fun, but backwall targets at 250-yards will give longdriving golfers something to aim for. Above the range, OnCore Buffalo will feature 120 – 160 hotel rooms for guests, as well as banquet, event and meeting spaces.
Plans currently include moving the First Tee of Western New York to the facility at no cost to help encourage and expand junior golf in the Western part of the state. Sites are also under consideration in Knoxville, Columbus and Cleveland, Ohio, Pittsburgh, Denver and Washington, D.C.
