Middle Atlantic PGA Announces Donation to Golf Emergency Relief Fund

Stafford, VA – With the hardships surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, the Middle Atlantic PGA has announced a $10,000 donation to the Golf Emergency Relief Fund. The golf industry is one that relies on the hard work of many different peoplethroughout the country. Many of those people have been let go of their duties during these times.

“The Board and staff of the MAPGA wanted to do their part to help those in our industry. There are many employees of smallbusinesses in the golf industry that are going through tough times, and the Golf Emergency Relief Fund was an ideal way tohelp them. Thanks to the PGA of America matching funds, our contribution was able to be magnified to help those in need,” says MAPGA President Josh Tremblay.

The Golf Emergency Relief Fund was created by the PGA of America through a $5 million pledge and a matching fund forthird party gifts up to $2.5 million. Many other golf industry organizations have supported the cause including theGCSAA, PGA Tour, LPGA, USGA, NGCOA, and AGM. The fund provides grants to certain industry workers to help offset financial hardships that have developed with COVID-19.

“People throughout golf are driven by a strong desire to help others every day. We have to ensure that the heart and soul ofour game––our people––are able to get back on their feet and continue to serve others down the road,” said PGA PresidentSuzy Whaley, PGA.
