This will be an exciting spring at Bonnie Briar Country Club in Larchmont, New York, as they have a new Golf & Tennis Performance Center opening. With three Trackman simulators, garage doors that open to the range, a club repair room, new cart barn, tennis pro shop and a welcoming lounge that will satisfy small parties, the 300 golf members of Bonnie Briar will enjoy upgraded instruction, enhanced custom club fitting and a great social experience with every visit. Coastal Carolina University graduate Joe Condomitti is kicking off his fourth season as the PGA of America Head Golf Professional at the Westchester County private club.
“We had only outdoor hitting bays and a tennis shop in this area of the club,” Condomitti explains. “We knew we had to put something new out there and decided to include a new tennis shop within the performance center on the range.”
The new structure is being built adjacent to the club’s tennis courts and will have an expansive patio in between for viewing the matches as the action takes place. Condomitti was informed of the project during his interview process a few years ago, which allowed him to guide his board on the many vital details that would encompass this generational new amenity. The plan was presented to and approved by the membership after Joe’s first year at the club.
“We hosted a few town halls and presented it to our members in the fall of 2022,” he says. “The three-phase project includes a paddle-warming hut, the new Golf & Tennis Performance Center and a new swimming pool.”
Due to open next month, the Golf & Tennis Performance Center will be a two-story building that houses a new cart barn and state-of-the-art club repair room on the ground floor. There will be a new office upstairs for Condomitti’s assistant professionals who will be able to overlook the range and a beautiful new lounge for small parties and groups to gather and socialize. This lounge area flows into the three indoor/outdoor bays that will be equipped with Trackman technology.
“We have state-of-the-art technology in three indoor/outdoor bays,” Condomitti boasts. “Members will be able to get all their numbers through the open garage doors and will enjoy simulator golf during the cold winter months in our climate-controlled performance center.”
Condomitti was using Trackman for outdoor fittings and lessons but looks forward to multiple devices in a more comfortable environment within the new structure. With his custom club fitting process more streamlined than ever, hard goods sales are sure to increase in his golf shop. He carries the biggest names in golf equipment, like Callaway, Ping, TaylorMade and Titleist. With everything in our industry being about service, investing in your range will undoubtedly lead to increased sales and service and a better member experience.
As he heads into the 2025 season, Condomitti looks forward to sharing these new amenities with his members and increasing winter engagement later this year through leagues and other indoor golf opportunities.
