GOLFTEC Upping Its Focus on Fitting

GOLFTEC has long been known for its advanced indoor golf lessons, utilizing high-speed cameras and video-sharing capabilities to help people improve at playing the game. Clubfitting has been a part of the equation for the Denver-based company operated by PGA Professional Joe Assell, the CEO, but never the marquee focus of the more than 200 GOLFTEC locations across the country.

The emerging trend of specialty fitting centers and a general increase in awareness among golf consumers has inspired the company to make a greater push in fitting and recently it completed the largest and most advanced fitter training in the company’s 24-year history. More than 100 elite coaches from around the world converged at GOLFTEC headquarters for a weeklong curriculum on clubfitting best practices and 2019 equipment product line education.

The summit focused on training coaches on further advances to GOLFTEC’s proprietary TECFIT clubfitting system and ensuring they were intricately familiar with the latest clubs from OEM partners. The latter was emphasized through sessions hosted by representatives from Callaway, TaylorMade, Ping, Titleist and Mizuno, and prepared GOLFTEC coaches to offer complete and accurate clubfitting experiences to golfers of all skill levels.

“Our coaches are the lifeblood of our company, which is why it is crucial that they are the most knowledgeable fitters on the planet and have every tool at their disposal to provide the most precise and complete fittings possible,” said Assell. “As our club sales and fitting services continue to expand with dozens of new GOLFTEC Training Centers opening worldwide every year, our focus is to keep moving forward and these in-depth educational sessions are vital to our success.”
