Casey Brozek on the importance of elevating your practice facility with a range host:
Over the past 12 to 15 months, we’ve transformed our practice facility into a truly first-class experience for our members and guests. This success has been the result of a series of thoughtful upgrades – both big and small – that have added up to a dramatic improvement in the overall atmosphere. We began by refreshing the look and feel of the range with new furniture, including benches, chairs, club washers, trash cans, bag stands and apple crates for the golf balls. We replaced the old twine rope with a sleek, custom belt-style strap to mark the tee line. We also added short targets and three chipping net targets to give players a variety of engaging practice options. For precision, we invested in FlagD Golf to provide accurate yardages to every target hole. One yardage box even displays the “max” distance, helping reduce balls that leave the range entirely. In the short game area, we now offer bagged balls instead of baskets, encouraging players to move around and practice a wider range of shots. To make the experience even more enjoyable, we created an amenities station stocked with bottled water, ice towels, tissues, Lifesavers, Advil, Band-Aids, tournament information, tees, divot tools and ball markers. These details add comfort, convenience and a sense of hospitality to every visit. However, the single most impactful upgrade has been the addition of a Range Host. This dedicated team member greets every player with a warm welcome, keeps the range tidy, picks up tees, cleans hitting stations and even assists by cleaning clubs or carrying bags to carts. In addition, they also ensure that members who are short on time get to the first tee quickly and efficiently. Our lead Range Host is also a key Assistant Golf Professional who takes genuine pride in the role, treating the range as their own personal domain.
Casey Brozek on the business impact of elevating your practice facility with a range host:
With all the improvements we have made to our practice facility, adding a Range Host has been the most impactful. Their attention to detail and commitment to service create an inviting, organized and energetic environment that players truly appreciate. This role has become one of our most important touch points of the day, and by every measure, it’s been a success. The Range Host not only enhances the facility’s appearance and efficiency but also helps foster the kind of welcoming, service-focused culture that keeps players coming back.
