2020 PGA Merchandise Show Education Conference Schedule Announced

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. (Nov. 5, 2019) – A full day of outdoor Teaching & Coaching workshops and four days of more than 50 classroom education sessions will be offered during the PGA Merchandise Show Education Conference in Orlando, Jan. 21-24, 2020. Up to 25 percent in early-registration savings, plus additional savings incentives for PGA Members and PGA Associates, are available through Nov. 18, 2019, for single session, single day, full conference and all-access education passes. The 2020 PGA Show Education Conference will offer a full day of educational programming, beginning Tuesday, Jan. 21, with hands-on Teaching & Coaching workshops at Orange County National Golf Center, and classroom sessions focused on Executive Management and Golf Operations at the Orange County Convention Center. Additionally, education sessions on PGA Show Days, Jan. 22-24, will begin an hour before the PGA Show Floor opens at 7:30 a.m., and conclude by mid-afternoon on Wednesday and Thursday (Jan. 22-23); and by noon on Friday (Jan. 24), to allow attendees to make the most of their time at the conference and explore the newest merchandise on the PGA Show Floor.

PGA Show Week also features multiple additional professional development opportunities, including complimentary industry presentations on the PGA Forum Stage, PGA Member workshops in the PGA Member Business Center, the NGCOA Golf Business Conference, the AGM Golf Retail Conference and the Tennis Owners & Managers Conference of the co-located Racquet & Paddle Sports Show.

Education Tracks – Executive Management, Teaching & Coaching, Golf Operations
More than 50 classroom sessions will be offered in three education tracks – Executive Management, Teaching & Coaching and Golf Operations, Jan. 21-24, at the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC). View the full classroom sessions schedule at PGAShow2020.com/education.

  • The Executive Management track features proven business experts sharing insights to develop a strategy that drives facility revenues, improves business efficiencies, fosters team building and spotlights leadership best practices.
  • The Teaching & Coaching track is designed to help PGA Professionals enhance their teaching business, categorize player programs, and develop marketing and communication tactics for a fully integrated teaching and coaching service.
  • The Golf Operations track focuses on customer service, tournament management, tee reservation services and merchandising, among other operations in the facility.

Outdoor Teaching & Coaching Workshops
Hands-on Teaching & Coaching Workshops return to PGA Show Demo Day and the range-side classroom, Tee #3, of Orange County National Golf Center (OCN) on Tuesday, Jan. 21, from 10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. The outdoor workshops, focusing on fitness and instruction in 2020, are available in detail at PGAShow2020.com/education.

PGA of America Specialized Program
PGA Professional leaders will have an opportunity to begin a specialized program within the 2020 PGA Show Education Conference at the PGA of America Specialized Teaching and Coaching Jump Start program at the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) on Tuesday, Jan. 21, from 8:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. The program will be led by PGA of America’s Director of Education Todd Sammons, PGA.

New Incentive Savings and MSR Credits
Early education registration savings up to 25 percent are currently available through Nov. 18, 2019. Additionally, PGA Members can save with a “Buy One, Get One Free” offer for Full Conference registration for an additional PGA Member or industry professional employed by the same facility. PGA Associates receive a 50 percent discount on all education registration. Online registration for single-session, single-day and full-conference and all-access passes is now available at PGAShow2020.com/education . PGA Professionals are able to earn more than 40 MSR credits through participation in the PGA Show Education Conference, additional PGA Show Week educational programming, and various PGA Merchandise Show and PGA of America programs. NGCOA – Golf Business Conference 2020
The annual Golf Business Conference, the largest annual meeting of golf course owners and operators, joins PGA Show Week for the first time, Jan. 20-22, 2020, at the OCCC. The event offers 15+ education sessions including a pre-conference Master Class, the annual Yamaha Golf Outing, the annual Celebration & Awards Dinner, social/networking receptions and more. All GBC20 education sessions are eligible for PGA and LPGA continuing education credits/units. Details are available at GolfBusinessConference.com.

AGM Retail Conference/Product Preview & Buyers’ Reception
The Association of Golf Merchandisers (AGM) host their annual retail conference, including a full schedule of educational sessions, presentation of the Platinum Awards, and the evening Product Preview & BuyersReception, Jan. 21, 2020, at the OCCC. Details are available at AGMgolf.org.

Racquet & Paddle Sports Show &
TOM (Tennis Owners & Managers) Conference

The Racquet & Paddle Sports Show, Jan. 21-24 and co-located with the PGA Show in the OCCC, is a comprehensive B2B event for the tennis, racquet and paddle sports industry, offering exhibits, demonstrations, education, product testing and networking events. Registered PGA Show attendees will have complimentary access to the racquet industry event. During the event, the Tennis Industry Association will present the annual Tennis Owners & Managers (TOM) Conference (separate registration required), featuring “TOM Talks” by industry experts, followed by roundtable discussions to generate and share ideas and best practices. The 67th PGA Merchandise Show, held Jan. 21-24, 2020, in Orlando, will welcome some 1,000 top golf companies and brands and nearly 40,000 industry professionals from around the world to the industry’s annual global summit for the business of golf.
