SuperStroke Golf Hires New Vice President of Research and Development

SuperStroke Golf, the leading oversize putter grip on tour, is pleased to announce that golf industry veteran, Steve Ogg has joined its team as the Vice President of Research & Development, effective immediately.

Ogg brings over 30 years of engineering experience in both the aerospace and golf industry to SuperStroke. After spending 11 years at The Boeing Company, in various roles, as a Senior Specialist Engineer, he received a Boeing Special Invention Award in 1997 for his creation of a raked wing tip design.

Ogg was recruited to Callaway Golf in 1997 to lead the development of golf ball aerodynamics, where he invented the hexagonal aero pattern (HEX) that improved performance relative to its competitors. It was awarded one of New York Times Magazine: Best Ideas of 2001: A Better Golf Ball. After leaving Callaway Golf in 2013 as Global Vice President, Golf Ball Category, Steve served as president of Ogg Engineering, LLC, working on innovative designs in the aerospace and sporting goods industries. He has 57 golf related patents to his credit.

“I am excited to be joining a company that values innovation and wants to continue to bring game enhancing products to golfing consumers,” said Ogg, “SuperStroke is already a great success story, but it is clear that they are not resting on their laurels. The leadership team has a consistent vision and strong commitment to develop the technology that will support demonstrable improvements in golf equipment.”

In his new role, Steve will be responsible for the organization’s research and product development for both putter grips and club grips.

“We are thrilled to have Steve join the SuperStroke team”, said Dean Dingman, President of SuperStroke USA. “Our company is dedicated to developing innovative, performance based products and with Steve’s extensive knowledge, of materials and product development, we will continue to push the category with new technology.”

SuperStroke (superstrokeusa.com) makes grips that are long lasting and extremely shock absorbent. The company’s patented parallel technology allows for even pressure in both hands, while eliminating added tension in the wrist and forearms. This unique design allows golfers’ arms to swing more freely reinforcing a pendulum-style putting stroke.

SuperStroke grips are designed with a high-tech polyurethane material featuring cross traction technology that improves feel and tackiness. The cross traction technology combined with SuperStroke’s patented parallel technology further increases consistency and lowers scores for every level of golfer, even professionals.
