As someone who suffered an injury that almost took me out of the golf business, I came back to the teaching business across nine facilities with a season starter special through a local TV affiliate in New York. Much like a Groupon or a Living Social Special “deal” it jump started my season with fresh faces to develop lifelong friendships with. Now that I have moved to the Mid Atlantic Section, the premise is no different. People love “a deal.” And if you give them one and then deliver an experience like no other, you’ve set a foundation for long-lasting relationship.

It’s obvious no Teaching Professional wants to intentionally dilute their brand. My current lesson rate is $80 per lesson for 45 minutes and really doesn’t differ much from World Golf Hall of Fame Member Manuel de la Torre. At three half hour lessons for $99 on a Spring Starter Special I recently sold out in just a few hours. But history has proven over the past seven years that 65 to 70 percent of these fresh faces continue forward with regular priced lessons because you changed their life for the better. These are people you might not have seen otherwise and now they are taking lessons and inviting their friends and family to come see you for lessons as well.
